Gran-D Hearing Aid Circuitry:
The Gran-D Hearing Aid circuit is a true 100% digital circuit with (in the case of a Half-Shell Hearing Aid Hearing Aid) two manual trimpot controls (soft-sound gain and tone). The manual trimpots give the user an ability to do some fine tuning of this digital hearing aid without having to go to a hearing professional or sending it back to Lloyds to get their hearing aid adjusted by computer. Digital circuitry is known for producing clearer and more accurate sound reproduction - similar to CD quality of music as compared to analog cassette tapes or records.

Half-Shell Hearing Aid designation:
The term Half-Shell Hearing Aid refers to the size of this hearing aid. A Half-Shell Hearing Aid aid is considered "medium" in comparison to other In-The-Ear types of hearing aids. It's not as large as the Full-Shell aid that fills up the entire bowl of the ear, nor is it as small as a Canal Aid that fits just at the opening of the ear canal. The faceplace is generally about the size of a nickel, although this will depend upon the individual's ear size and what "extras" may be installed into the aid. All Half-Shell Hearing Aids use the size #312 battery. These are custom built aids, so the size and shape will perfectly match the curves and contours of the user's individual ear. To make a custom aid we need impressions of the user's ears. This can easily be done right at home. Tens of thousands of Lloyd's customers have successfully done this over the past 40 years with no problems. It's a very safe and simple procedure. Everything necessary to make impressions of your ears is sent at no charge.

The Gran-D Hearing Aid Half-Shell Hearing Aid is a digital instrument built to match the user's hearing loss. We like to have audiograms (hearing loss charts) if possible. It's very helpful but not absolutely necessary. The more complete of a description of a person's hearing loss, the better able we are to meet the need. The Gran-D Hearing Aid Half-Shell Hearing Aid comes with a volume control wheel. The Half-Shell Hearing Aid aid can be made with up to 50dB of gain, making it appropriate for a wide degree of hearing losses ranging from mild all the way up to moderately severe. Most Half-Shell Hearing Aids also feature venting through the shell which allows the aid to "breathe" while it's being worn. This helps alleviate the sensation of "talking in a barrel" for its wearer. The standard Half-Shell Hearing Aid comes with a one year warranty, cleaning tools, free batteries, instruction booklet, carrying pouch and all items needed in order to wear the aid right out of the box. Extended warranties are available at a reasonable cost.
